First fossil hunting expedition of 2014

The first fossil hunting expedition of the 2014 year went very well. Location: Peace River, FL. Peace River still remains the best location for Cenozoic Era fossils in Florida that I have seen thus far. We were only there a few hours, and recovered more than twenty pieces; including dugong rib bone fragments, horse teeth, shark teeth, whale tooth, turtle shells, and a large number of unidentified bone fragments belonging to a very large animal(s) … some of them having bite marks along the bone.

We’ve marked the exact location of this find. We will be returning this weekend.
